A lentil soup is always a good idea – it’s fragrant, nutritious and so easy to make and enjoy over a few days.
I have been a little sick for the past 4 days – the classical autumn flu. So I stay at home, go early to bed and drink bucket loads of herbal tea Eternal patience is key but so is healthy food. Now, red rice, spicy chicken and sautéed greens are ok but, as per recent experience, NOT ideal for when you are tired and feverish. The combination of carbs and protein is a bit difficult to digest and maybe requires more energy than a sick person has.
So today I finally made my favorite homemade lentil soup – with lots of herbs, nice, alkaline veggie broth and nutritious brown lentils. It has an added twist – ginger! It just makes it a little bit…warmer, cozier and goes so well with the flavors. Even if you are a bit skeptical at first, give it try and add a little bit of fresh ginger Now here’s what you’ll need to make a small pot of delicious lentil soup.
